Fatherson are a three piece band from the town of Kilmarnock. Currently based in Glasgow they have been making waves in the Scottish music scene through a string of supports and tours with bands such as Idlewild, Panic! at the Disco, Feeder and Twin Atlantic to name a few. Furthermore, this summer saw the band play many festivals such as T in the Park and Wickerman.
The band released their new EP in June on the King Tuts Recordings record label. This label has previously released singles for acts such as The Dykeenies, Twin Atlantic and The Xcerts. This was accompanied by a headline release show in King Tuts Wah Wah Hut as part of the Summer Nights Festival. This show sold out in advance and has lead to Fatherson booking a headline show at the end of the year in Glasgow’s Arches venue. This show will incorporate a small orchestra alongside other additional instrumentation and a screening of the short film created by Fatherson and photographer Joshua Aaron Porter.
With a new single set for release in December and tours planned for the new year, things look set for Fatherson up their game and take things to the next step in 2012.
