a Tenement Trail 2014
WE
at Tenement TV find an affinity with all genres of music, ranging from more conventional rock fare to psych pop, hip-hop, electronica and everything in between. On account of this, it’s always a crucial caveat when constructing Tenement Trial that we provide ample choice for festival-goers and ensure that everyone’s needs are catered to. In keeping with this spirit of inclusion, we’ve detailed four different routes that are suggested for  distinctly different types of music fan.

For those who love nothing more than untamed and boisterous rock ‘n’ roll that exudes pure attitude and charisma, there’s a multitude of bands that there’s every chance you’ll be pledging your allegiance to by the end of the evening.

ROCK ‘N’ ROLL

Catering to this particular demographic from the very beginning of the day, The Bar Dogs are a Glaswegian band that are sure to serve up several delectable cuts of unrepentant rock for those who are so inclined. With a brash and boisterious sound that is influenced by acts varying from The Clash and The Jam  to Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty, they’ve taken our imagination and are sure to grab yours too. Check out ‘Glasgow Saturday Night’ below to hear precisely what we’re referring to.

Sure to incite carnage within the crowd when it bursts into life, listen to Bellevue Suite below:

Set times: 6:30-7:00pm

Incorporating sizable aspects of varying genres into their rambunctious mix, Medicine Men have garnered a reputation for managing to expertly tow the line between the strident side of rock and the introspective idealisms of psychedelic in a fashion that very few can. Having recently performed in front of an impassioned crowd at the legendary King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, tracks such as ‘Lowlands’ are sure to inspire unexalted joy in the  true rock ‘n’ roll connoisseur.

Set time: 8:15-8:45pm, Nice N Sleazy’s

Venturing toward the more indie-oriented side of the spectrum, The Calm Fiasco have became known for their inherent ability to throw anything they see fit into the mix and carry it off without a second thought. Blending everything from punk to 50’s style melodies into their music while maintaining their cocksure edge, check out ‘Sugar’ to see precisely what we mean:

Set Time: 8:45-9:15pm, Flat 0/1

Stripping things all the way back to skiffle at certain points, Glasgow’s Acting Strange are a refreshing breath of fresh air in an era in which glossy production and contrived aesthetics often rule the day. Demonstrating their knack for tremendous songwriting with recent EP A Night On The Tiles,  there’s no better time than Tenement Trail to familiarise yourself with this immensely talented duo.

Set time: 10:00-10:30pm, King Tut’s

Traversing both the angular punk of bands such as Bloc Party and more abrasive rock, Glasgow’s Young Aviators have found themselves with a rabid fanbase that constantly clamours for more of their entertaining output. Their incredibly dexterous take on the genre is displayed for all to see on the recent ‘Sex, Death and Eternal Happiness.’
