CROW’S FEET (Scotland)

A heady mix of sumptuous ambience and rousing alt-pop, Crow’s Feet are an exciting proposition within Glasgow’s bustling scene due to their masterful grasp of exactly what makes their sound tick so perfectly. A track that we were delighted to premiere earlier this week, ‘Hesitator’ contains both splendour and imposing electronics which combine to create one of their most affecting songs yet.

CAIROBI (ENGLAND)

Hailing from London, Cairobi’s sound is one which is enriched with a sense of brazenness which allows them to take their beguiling psych-pop in any direction they deem necessary. Case in point is their latest release ‘Saint’, a phenomenal outing which is packed with lingering, middle-eastern riffs and wonderfully off-kilter flourishes which draw you into their mind-altering world.

DROWNED OUT (SCOTLAND)

Possessing a sound that harbours allusions towards Biffy Clyro’s angsty early days and the fusion of sentimentality and punky discontent that’s regularly employed by Manchester Orchestra, Drowned Out are marking out their own nice within the nation’s marketplace. Impressing during shows in Glasgow venues such as Stereo, The Classic Grand and Broadcast alongside fellow upstarts including Sway and Fabric Bear, their new EP Know You Know is brimming with hot-blooded riffs and yet capable of moments of deep introspection.

FRUIT TONES (ENGLAND)

Exploding out of the continuously creative musical hub of Manchester, we’re eagerly awaiting the return of Fruit Tones and there’s no better time to highlight why it’s such an exciting prospect. Heading to Glasgow in order to partake in DIY label Fuzzkill Record’s Christmas Party at The Old Hairdressers, their rambunctious garage rock sound is one which is guaranteed to have the crowd in fits and new music is on the horizon for early 2017.

LITTLE CUB (ENGLAND)

Delicate and sparse synth pop which envelopes the listener’s mind, there’s a considerable amount of hype gathering around London’s Little Cub and it’s easy to see why. Signed to the renowned Domino Records, their latest track ‘My Nature’ is tailor made to get lost in and features an undeniable groove amid its precise keys. Further enhanced by vocalist Dominic Gore’s ambivalent vocals and the track’s whip-smart lyrics,  now is the time to get acquainted with this trio’s fascinating sounds.
