OFF THE RECORD pops up in Glasgow this Saturday (11th February) with a day of industry insiders and panel discussions for 14-24 year-olds looking to find out more about the music industry.
Featuring our very own Nadine Walker (Editorial Director at Tenement TV), other speakers confirmed to attend the event include Charlotte Brimner (Be Charlotte), Jannica Honey (photographer), Tallah Brash (The Skinny), Michael Lambert (A Modern Way Management) Scott Kirkwood (Scottish Music Centre) and many more. The day will be an excellent opportunity to hear from key members of the music industry as they share their wide range of knowledge and expertise through a series of workshops, presentations and panel discussions.
Offering insight from a range of different backgrounds and disciplines, the panel discussions will cover vital areas of the industry such as releasing tracks, getting/organising gigs, promoting music and employment opportunities. There will also be presentations on collection societies and music photography and a chance for aspiring musicians to gain valuable feedback on their material in listening sessions.
Organised in partnership with Born To Be Wide, The Scottish Music Centre and The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, the day is designed to give young people the skills, knowledge and information required to forge a successful career in the music business. Previous Off The Record events have proven to be very useful to attendees who have gone onto pursue a career in the industry, whether as an artist or in business.
The event will take place this Saturday at City Halls between 10.30am and 5pm. Ticket are now sold out.
