RECORD STORE DAY celebrates its tenth anniversary this weekend on Saturday 22nd April with over 500 exclusive releases making their way into independent record shops all over the UK. Giving vinyl lovers the opportunity to get their hands on some highly sought after gems and rarities, the special occasion will be celebrated all over Scotland in some of the country’s most popular musical havens. With a huge variety of live music and special releases on offer, TTV has put together a list of some of the best events worth checking out this Record Store Day.

Rare Trade Records, Kilwinning

This all-day party will include live in-store performances and stripped back sets from Miracle Glass Company, Tragic O’hara, The Miss’s, Medicine Men, Loki and a DJ set from Crash Club. The free event will also include limited edition Record Store Day vinyls, flash vinyl sales and snacks for attendees. Details here. 

Love Music, Glasgow

Love Music, one of Glasgow’s most well-known record shops, will have over 500 exclusive RSD releases on sale from 8.30 am followed by live music from 2pm. Artists confirmed to appear include Reaction, Ultras, Static Union, Storm the Palace, the Bar Dogs, Pronto Mama, Fallen Arches, Gordon Harrow and Colonel Mustard & the Dijon 5. Details here. 

LP Records, Glasgow

Having recently branched out with the launch of their own record label, LP Records in Glasgow’s West End will host a daytime event from 8am that will include specially curated DJ sets, exclusive RSD releases and live sets from Happyness and more TBA. Meanwhile, the already sold out night-time event, made exclusive to those on their mailing list, will feature live performances from Frightened Rabbit’s Scott Hutchinson and Admiral Fallow’s Louis Abbott. VoxBox Records, Edinburgh

VoxBox will celebrate Record Store Day with their annual street-party style event, during which they will have a live in-store performance from Miracle Glass Company alongside showings from a plethora of artists in The Antiquary and The Last Word. Alongside the finest RSD releases, artists confirmed to appear between 11am and 6pm include Scott Hutchison (Frightened Rabbit), Stina Tweeddale (Honeyblood), Meursault, Martha Ffion, Savage Mansion and Ultras. Monorail, Glasgow 

Doors open at 9am at Mono on Record Store Day before the live sets kick off at 3pm. Alongside the ‘superb home baking’, the event will offer a mix of bands and DJs with appearances from Bristol band Snails, Pussy Mothers, TeenCanteen and Breakfast Muff and DJ sets from Sarah Pickles and GK Machines to name a few.
