CAMERA OBSCURA’S Carey Lander has accomplished the incredible feat of raising almost £30,000 for Sarcoma UK.
Lander; who was diagnosed with the rare form of cancer known as osteosarcoma in 2011, had initially set her target at £25,000 but has since increased the sum to a whopping £50,000 due to the success of the campaign thus far.
Speaking via her Justgiving page, the keyboardist clarifies her decision to raise funds, stating that “my illness is here tripping me up again and I feel like it’s time to tell people a bit more about it and see if I can raise a bit of cash to help others in a similar situation. I’m hugely grateful for any donations you feel like making.”
