Declan-Welsh-Colin-Usher-4DECLAN Welsh – one of our top picks for this year’s XpoNorth showcase – will unveil his new record at a Glasgow launch party tomorrow, Saturday 27th June 2015.

The 21 year old singer-songwriter pens stories about being young in Glasgow and turns them into music. His songs range from an ode to tales of his nights out to a call to arms against the fascists and everything in between; the only common thread being catchy tunes and relatable, witty observations on everyday life.

With his newly formed group, Welsh and his band have recorded their debut Alright EP at Chem 19 Studios and will be released on 29th June 2015 following the official launch tomorrow at Broadcast in Glasgow.

Invited to open for Squeeze at the Kelvingrove Bandstand and Glasvegas at Glasgow’s Fruitmarket in December in recent months, 2015 also saw Welsh open for Ocean Colour Scene at Glasgow’s Concert Hall on two dates.

In February this year Declan became one of Scotland’s youngest ever board directors after being appointed on to the board of Children in Scotland. Originally the charity had noted Declans’ related comments on his Facebook page, which led to him being invited to give a speech at their annual convention late in 2014.

Tickets for tomorrow’s show are available via Ticket Scotland. Listen to a recent live performance from earlier this year below:
