EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL have announced details of this year’s line-up.

Running from the 3rd-27th August in the nation’s capital, the first wave of acts has now been formally unveiled and features a vast array of innovative and pioneering homegrown talent.

Spanning everything from theatre to classical, among the most exciting propositions on the line-up is the new ‘Light On The Shore with Edinburgh Gin Seaside’ shows. Headlined by Scotland’s post-rock trailblazers Mogwai, the event will also play host to King Creosote, Django Django, Karine Polwart’s Scottish Songbook and more.

In keeping with the creative ethos behind the festival, the newly commissioned venue will also play host to orchestral reimaginings of seminal Scottish works including Anna Meredith’s Varmints, Hi Scores by Boards Of Canada and Martyn Bennett’s Bothy Culture as performed by The Grit Orchestra.

With many other offerings including Neu Reekie’s as yet undisclosed evening that will be headlined by The Pastels and The Vaselines, all details on the event as it stands are available now via their official website.
