SONY DSCCHAMPIONING both new music and the labels which provide artists with the resources to release it, the AIM Independent Music Awards are now open for submissions.

Ran by the vitally important Association for Independent Music, the fifth annual ceremony will commemorate what has been another prosperous year for both bands and labels alike, with more independent artists filtering through into the mainstream consciousness than ever before.

Featuring categories ranging from the expected such as ‘Best Independent Track’ to more obscure yet equally prestigious prizes for ‘Best ‘Difficult’ Second Album and ‘Hardest Working Band Or Artist’ of the year, the event will see them honour musicians that are both well known and burgeoning.

With last year’s winners including a myriad of prominent figures such as Arctic Monkeys, London Grammar and Ghetts, the relevant forms for entering a category can be found here, whilst the deadline for submissions is set as 29th May 2015.

The event itself is scheduled to take place on September 8th 2015 at The Brewery in Clerkenwell, London; with tickets available via their website.
