THE first snippet of new footage from the hotly anticipated sequel to Danny Boyle’s cult classic ‘Trainspotting’ has emerged in the shape of a short teaser trailer.
With the seminal film first released 21 years ago, the upcoming sequel will see the characters which were first spawned within the mind of Scottish novelist Irvine Welsh reconvene after their lives went down separate paths.
Largely adapted from Welsh’s ‘Porno’ sequel before being dramatised for the big screen by acclaimed writer John Hodge, the new teaser trailer sees the original gang of Renton, Spud, Begbie and Sick Boy waiting at a platform whilst the familiar strains of Iggy Pop’s ‘Lust For Life’ bellow away and conjure up a mix of nostalgia and palpable excitement.
The long-awaited film will be released on the 27th January 2017.
