SCOTLAND’S own Franz Ferdinand have debuted a series of new songs and a special homage to the Barrowlands.

Unveiled at Romania’s Electric Castle festival at which they headlined the final night, the band’s stage backdrop featured the band’s name up in lights in the iconic and instantly recognisable font of the legendary Gallowgate venue.

Joined onstage by the new additions to their ranks in Julian Corrie (Miaoux Miaoux) and Dino Bardot, their set also contained renditions of tracks from their forthcoming album including ‘Paper Cages’, ‘Lazy Boy’ and ‘Always Ascending.’

Whilst no audio or video from the tracks has emerged as of yet, reports suggest that they were well received by the Romanian audience and it appears likely that they could be performed during the band’s headline set at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival in August.
