THE first batch of acts have been announced for this year’s Freakender festival.

Returning to The Old Hairdresser’s on Renfield Lane across the 14th-16th September, the annual weekend-long fest is back this year with an exciting amalgamation of homegrown acts and international stars. Highly unique in its fierce DIY ethos and dedication to independent music, its first line-up announcement features the likes of Holy Waves, The Blank Tapes, Melenas, Future Glue and Savage Mansion. The full rundown can be seen below.

As the brainchild of local labels Fuzzkill, El Rancho and Eyes Wide Open, Freakender has become one of the Glasgow music scene’s most highly anticipated events since its inception in 2016; staging some of the best garage rock, pop and psych bands from around Scotland and further afield.
