GLASGOW is named cultural and creative centre of UK with Edinburgh and Dundee coming in at sixth and twelfth place. The study was completed by the European Commission.

Following in the top five were London, Bristol, Brighton and Manchester. Glasgow came first for “openness, tolerance and trust” and “cultural participation and attractiveness.”

The report said: “Glasgow was one of the first European capitals of culture, in 1990. Known as an industrial city, it has now gained recognition as a creative and cultural centre of European importance.”

Glasgow is home to many amazing festivals including our very own TENEMENT TRAIL, which popped up across 13 venues in Glasgow this year in our new East End hub. TRNSMT Festival + Glasgow Summer Sessions are also huge cultural events that bring huge artists to the city. Over the years organisers DF Concerts have brought Queen, The Killers, The Cure and Foo Fighters into Glasgow.

Glasgow is also the home to TTV’s HQ in the West End of the city, where we’ve filmed sessions with hundreds of bands over the last eight years including Bastille and Catfish and the Bottlemen.
