JACK WHITE has announced the forthcoming release of his new album Boarding House Reach.
Four years on from the unveiling of his sophomore solo record Lazaretto, the enigmatic singer/songwriter has finally given us the first indication of what to expect from his first full-length project since the release of The Dead Weather’s Dodge + Burn with the atmospheric ‘Connected By Love.’
Whilst still bearing the hallmarks of the modern blues bombast and rootsy compositions of his previous albums, ‘Connected By Love’ fuses a gospel-inspired chorus and whirling hammond organs with deep-seated and subversive synths. A confessional number that’s largely centered on a a frantic vocal take of his own that casts allusions towards the preaching style of Nick Cave, the experimentation has been taken even further on the instrumental B-side ‘Respect Commander.’
With no release date declared as yet, we do know that the record will be released via his own Third Man Label.
