final-album-front-cover-december-2016SCOTLAND’S own The Jesus And Mary Chain have announced the release date and title of their first album in 18 long years.

Initially revealed in vague terms by Alan McGee a few weeks ago, the details of the East Kilbride-based outfit’s first new record since 1998 have remained shrouded in mystery until now.

Today sees them declare that the record will be entitled Damage And Joy and will be released on the 24th March 2017 via Warner.

A slew of guest stars have played alongside the Reid brothers on the record including producer Youth of Killing Joke, touring drummer Brian Young and former Lush bassist Phil King.

Disclosing its full tracklisting and accompanying cover art, the record’s opening salvo ‘Amputation’ is set to be revealed on Steve Lamacq’s Radio 6 Music show this evening.
