lcd soundsystemLCD SOUNDSYSTEM have cancelled a forthcoming tour in order to continue work on their much-anticipated new album.

Having disbanded back in 2010, it appeared that we’d never be graced with new music from James Murphy and Co until they reconvened earlier this year to perform shows across the globe.

With James Murphy adamant from the outset that this tour was more than just a nostalgia trip, Clockenflap Festival in Japan broke the news with the following statement:

“Regrettably, we have some unfortunate news to share, as due to studio scheduling conflicts related to their new album, LCD Soundsystem have had to cancel their upcoming Asian tour at the end of the year, now including their appearance at Clockenflap 2016. We are as disappointed as you are with this news. We wish them all the best with their recording and look forward to welcoming them to HK at another time.”

Whilst it’s undoubtedly upsetting for those on the Asian leg (and an upcoming Australia tour which hadn’t even been announced yet), hopefully they can take solace in the fact that they’ve allowed the rest of the world to experience a new album from LCD Soundsystem all the quicker.
