Edwyn Collins live at London's Barbican - videoLIVERPOOL SOUND CITY is adding to its impressive conference line-up with speakers such as Edwyn Collins and The Vaccines’ Justin Young and Freddie Cowan.

Joining pysch rock pioneer Wayne Coyne as keynote speaker, former Orange Juice frontman Edywn Collins will cover all manner of topics including how his life and musical output changed following a cerebral haemorrhage in 2005. As well as the aforementioned speech, the conference will also feature an intimate performance from the acclaimed vocalist and a screening of the astounding documentary The Possibilities are Endless; named after one of only four phrases he was able to utter during his neurological rehabilitation.

Speaking in reference to his appearance at the event, Collins stated:

“I’m delighted to be in Liverpool for Sound City, I’ve always felt an affinity for the place. Back in the Orange Juice days we were regulars in the city playing at places like Eric’s. I’ve always had great support from Liverpool and I always look forward to coming back.”

In addition to its keynote speakers, the event is also continuing with its ‘In Conversation’ programme, featuring festival headliners The Vaccines playing an integral role. With their set being billed as one of the marquee events of the weekend, the band will detail their rise to prominence, the creation of their two well received albums and their plans for the future.

With ‘In Conversation’ also set to profile the multifaceted Liverpudlian musician Jane Weaver, the conference will also play host to Manchester art pop outfit Everything Everything during its ‘How? Sessions’  series.

Liverpool Sound City’s conference will occur between 21st-22nd May 2015, whilst its festival; set to include acts such as Belle And Sebastian, Honeyblood, Peace and Neon Waltz, takes place on the 22nd-24th.
