LAST week, Frightened Rabbit announced the release of a special covers version of their seminal second album ‘The Midnight Organ Fight’.

Organised to coincide with the album’s tenth anniversary, ‘Tiny Changes: A Celebration of The Midnight Organ Fight’ will feature a specially selected group of musicians and friends of the band doing their own interpretations of the songs. Pieced together last year, the band revealed that Scott Hutchison played a vital role in bringing the album together before his tragic and untimely passing last year.

Now taking on a whole new significance, some of the proceeds of the project will go Tiny Changes, the charity set up in his memory. With artwork designed by Hutchison himself as seen above, the album will feature covers from Biffy Clyro, CHVRCHES’ Lauren Mayberry, Julien Baker, Death Cab For Cutie’s Benjamin Gibbard, the National’s Aaron Dessner and more.

And having heard Biffy Clyro and Julien Baker’s reimagination of ‘The Modern Leper’ last week, Manchester Orchestra and Sarah Silverman & Harkin have now unveiled their respective covers of ‘My Backwards Walk’.

Comedian and actress Sarah Silverman, who was a friend of Hutchison, has teamed up with Katie Harkin, of Sky Larkin to create an intimate, synth-driven, slow-burning version of the song. On the other hand, Manchester Orchestra’s version of the much-loved song is a sweeping, cinematic effort.

The tribute compilation is available for pre-order before it is officially released on 12th July.
