massive attackMASSIVE ATTACK will head out on their first standalone headline tour in five years in January, when they embark on a huge 22 date European tour.

It will include a stop on the 22nd January in Glasgow, where they will play the O2 Academy. It will then continue on through the UK with two shows in London at the Brixton O2 Academy planned, before coming to an end in France on the 26th February.

To make the news even more interesting, joining them on the tour for all the dates will be Mercury Prize winners and Scotland’s very own Young Fathers. The hip-hop trio have catapulted to success in the last year, and now now stand at the forefront of importance in the UK music scene. The combination with Massive Attack is sure to make for an explosive live occasion.

Added to this, Massive Attack have also dropped the news that they will be releasing new music sometime this year, with a full announcement set to be made shortly.

The seminal British act rose to fame in the early 90’s with their debut album Blue Lines, and continued the form in 1998 when they released the album Mezzanine, which featured the track ‘Teardrop’. Their last album was released in 2010.
