GLASGOW GREEN will play host to a brand new boutique festival this May bank holiday.

Set to take place across the 27th and 28th May, May West will feature performances from The Stranglers, Public Service Broadcasting, Ward Thomas, Turin Brakes, Roddy Hart and the Lonesome Fire. The inaugural event will also include the Glasgow Gospel Choir and Dreadzone.

Staged ‘in homage’ to the Mayfest days of the nineties, the two day event has been organised by WEST brewery and the people behind Loopallu Festival in Ullapool. Revellers will also be able to enjoy ta full array of award-winning German-inspired beers in a specially designed beer hall, as well as many of Scotland’s other finest craft brews alongside tasty treats from some of Glasgow’s finest food operators.

Commenting on the announcement, Robert Hicks, co-founder of May West, said: “It’s been a long time dream to bring an event to Glasgow Green, and what better way to do it than in partnership with the wonderful people at West Brewery. We’re aiming to create a new, affordable fixture on Glasgow’s calendar where everyone can join together to celebrate great music and entertainment; as well as an eye and mouth watering offering of food and drink from around the country.”

Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday 10th March at 10am via Ticketmaster, Skiddle and Tickets Scotland while you can follow the Facebook page for more information here.
