OFF THE RECORD makes its return to Glasgow on Saturday 11th February with its latest event set to be held in the Scottish Music Centre. An event series founded by Born To Be Wide, the day is open to anyone aged 14-25 and is designed to give young people the skills, knowledge and information required to forge a successful career in the music business.

Organised in partnership with the Scottish Music Centre, the event will feature a number of notable speakers who will share their wide range of knowledge and advice through different workshops, presentations and panel discussions. With additional guests still to be announced, confirmed speakers include Tenement TV’s very own Nadine Walker, Michael Lambert (A Modern Way Management), Joe Rattray (Synergy Concerts), Toni Malyn (EmuBands), Scott Kirkwood (Scottish Music Centre), photographer Jannica Honey and more.

Focusing on key areas of the business such as releasing tracks, getting/organising gigs, promotion and employment opportunities, the event has proven to be very useful to attendees in the past who have gone onto pursue a career in the industry, whether as an artist or in business.

Born To Be Wide director Olaf Furniss has said: “We are delighted to be working with the Scottish Music Centre and to be returning to the UK’s first UNESCO City Of Music. Off The Record is a great opportunity for anyone interested in working in music to learn about how the basics work and make contacts.”
