THE first spate of acts for next year’s Reading & Leeds Festival have been announced, with Metallica set to be a Main Stage headliner on one of it’s three evenings.

The announcement emerged from Zane Lowe on Radio 1 at 7pm, giving listeners the first glimpse into the event which will take place over the course of August 28-30th 2015.

Following their triumphant Glastonbury set in June, the thrash metal legends will look to bring a heavier element to the festival’s main stage than any band in recent memory.

Other acts on the bill thus far include Jamie T who, hot on the heels of his well received comeback record Carry On The Grudge, the Wimbledon troubadour will return to the festival circuit after a notable absence in recent years.

American band Manchester Orchestra recorded a session with us at TTV HQ last month and will take to the R&L stages in support of Hope and Cope, their  two interlinked releases from this year.

Swedish punk band Refused will also play the festival. The band reunited in 2012 and are making only their second UK performance following their resurrection.

Run The Jewels is the collaborative effort between hip hop artists Killer Mike and EL-P have been garnering critical acclaim following the release of their second LP last month and will be making their debut performance at the festival.

The second batch of tickets went on sale at 9 am on 25th November 2014. You can purchase tickets here.
