WITH just 1 week to go until Resonate 2019 celebrates Scotland’s diverse and thriving music scene bringing music icons, legends and award winners to Glasgow’s thriving East End, we take a look at the highlights of this year’s event.

Returning for the third year and with a strong array of panel discussions, practical led workshops, one to one advice sessions and presentations; Resonate looks to inspire and connect the music industry. Whether you are a music student, professional, musician or fan, there’s something for everyone on this year’s Resonate programme.

ELEVATE YOUR SENSES WITH IMOGEN HEAP’S SENSORY GLOVES

Founded by Grammy award-winning musician Imogen Heap, MI·MU gloves will be at this year’s Resonate in a Scotland first. MI·MU is a team of artists, technologists and designers developing cutting-edge wearable technology for the performance and composition of music. MI·MU have captured worldwide attention by showcasing that there is a better way to make music than with sliders and buttons – through the complex movement of the human body.

THE TOP TALENT BOOKERS FILLING STADIUMS + CREATING SOLD-OUT SHOWS

Scotland’s booking talent is second to none, from T in the Park to the fresh and exciting TRNSMT and Summer Sessions Festivals, DF Concerts harness some of the best booking talent in the industry bringing acts from the likes of Queen to Foo Fighters and The Cure to Scotland. Resonate are also delighted to bring a discussion with Regular Music to the programme this year. The promoters have brought new life to the Bandstand with a huge run of sold-out shows ensuring Scotland’s live music scene is one of the best and most fruitful in the world. BBC Introducing, TENEMENT TV / TENEMENT TRAIL Festival and Freakender will also be popping up throughout the Resonate programme on Thursday 14th November.

YOUR MENTAL HEALTH IS YOUR WEALTH

Help Musicians Scotland are a proud partner of Resonate, with Suzanne Miller (National Manager, Help Musicians’ Scotland), Ali Richardson (Bleed From Within), Stina Tweeddale (Honeyblood), John Letham (Considered Thinking) all getting together to discuss the importance of mental health, discussing how to balance your career whilst staying healthy and grounded.

FLYING SOLO? THEN THE SPEED DATING WITH CREATIVE ENTREPRENEURS CLUB IS FOR YOU

Those who are flying solo to this year’s Resonate will be right at home in the friendly drop in sessions covering hot topics including social media, tax, limited company and beyond. Simply put, the Creative Entrepreneurs Club is a collection of like-minded people who share knowledge and help each other. CEC is a member driven community and aims to help people grow cool businesses in an authentic and empathetic way. Drop in to meet some of the CEC specialists covering areas such as professional development planning, networking, planning a space, managing your cash, crowdfunding and so much more.

RESONATE LIVE RETURNS WITH SOME HOMEGROWN TALENT

Resonate’s LIVE showcase returns in 2019 with one of the hottest line-ups yet. Fresh from selling out King Tut’s, Rascalton will top the bill which also features Awkward Family Portraits, Scarlett Randle, Zak Younger Banks, Billy Got Waves X Joell and Grayling. This is FREE to all Resonate delegates, as the day of learning and networking comes to an end, the venue will be transformed into a hotbed of musical talent until after dark.

BAaD is not only a creative hub for events and gigs, it’s well-known for serving up some of the best food in the city. The Resonate delegate pass will unlock some incredible food options with A’Challtainn Fish Restaurant & Bar and Magnificent 7 on site at the event dishing out vegan pizzas + curry, the famous BAaD fish and chips and tasty tacos.

THE PARTY CONTINUES AT ROOM 2

Resonate have announced an exciting afterparty at the brilliant Room 2 venue in Glasgow with Rebecca Vasmant + Jay Gunning. The event is free with an optional donation to charity partner Help Musicians Scotland.
