AS part of the stellar lineup of events that Resonate will bring to BAaD this November, they have, today, announced the incredible live acts who will take to the stage.

Makeness

Makeness is the brainchild of Scottish producer and songwriter, Kyle Molleson. His blend of pop soul and diverse electronic instrumentation creates a heady and heavenly sound, which feels far-removed from a lot of electronic music that is currently being made. Following a stream of singles and EPs, Makeness dropped his first full-length album earlier this year, and it was met with incredible adulation from fans and critics alike. Despite spending his formative years on a Scottish island surrounded by folk musicians, his industrially-tinged electronic sound could not be further removed from this.

ONR.

A cocktail of sound that takes a serving and splash from across multiple genres, with dance-floor filling hooks, swooning vocals and LOUD guitars. One of the most striking things that applies to every release ONR. has dropped is the ambition and diversity that flows from track to track. There remains no doubt that this artist has their eyes on taking their anthemic sound to stadium-sized audiences.

Lizzie Reid

Part of a growing movement of folk-inspired musicians that is emerging across Scotland, Lizzie Reid takes elements that one would associate with traditional folk songwriting and instrumentation, and effortlessly blends it with modern elements that trickle through her songwriting. After her performance at our very own Tenement Trail 2018, there remains no doubt about her creativity, talent and strikingly beautiful live performances.

Luna The Professor

Despite being only 18 months into their life as a band, this four-piece indie outfit have seen a sharp rise to local prominence across Scotland. With a following built through word of mouth around their incredible live shows, Luna the Professor enjoyed a run of three sold out shows earlier this year, including the legendary King Tuts. Despite recorded material not hitting the airwaves as of yet, the boys’ rise is testament to their incredible ability to fill rooms and throw fans into a frenzy.

Carla J. Easton

Combining unique instrumentation that fuses hip-hop-influenced percussion and simple keyboard-based melodies, Carla J. Eatson’s sound is an interesting take on pure pop music. Earlier in 2018, she treated fans to her first full-length record, which was a pop music triumph, that is testament to Carla’s unique approach to making music.

Kate Kyle

The youngest performer on the night is emerging acoustic singer-songwriter Kate Kyle. Her simple sound is low-key, therapeutic and shows a level of songwriting maturity that is far beyond her years. With a strong following across Scotland being treated to her infectious acoustic sound, this incredibly talented musician certainly has a positive path ahead of her.
