RYAN ADAMS has announced his upcoming new album Prisoner.
Having worked steadfastly on the record over the course of recent months, the upcoming new collection is his first full length release since his re-imagining of Taylor Swift’s 1989 and his first album of completely original material since 2014.
Previewing every new song from the album during his show in Sydney, Adams recently spoke of the inspiration behind the tracks and proclaimed that they’ve arose from a turbulent period in his personal life:
“I started writing this record while I was going through a very public divorce, which is a humiliating and just a fucking horrible thing to go through no matter who you are. To be me and to go through that the way that I did was destructive on a level that I can’t explain. So a lot of extra work went into keeping my chin up and remembering what I did and what I loved about who I was.”
It has been speculated that its lead single ‘Do You Still Love Me?’ will arrive later today.
Prisoner will be released on the 17th February.
