Screen Shot 2015-04-22 at 17.15.34SLEAFORD Mods and The Pop Group have announced they will be joining forces for a special split 7” release.

The single will feature an alternate version of new Mods album track ‘Face to Faces’, while the Pop Group contribution comes in the form of ‘Nations’, a track taken from the bands recent comeback album, Citizen Zombie.

Backed by a simple bassline, ‘Face to Faces’ sees Mods frontman Jason Williamson deliver a typical no holds barred monologue on civil apathy, reserving special venom for coalition duo Nick Clegg and Boris Johnson – “Boris on a bike? Quick, knock the cunt over.”

‘Nations’ fuses the cult late 70’s album muzak of John Cooper Clarke with a twist of Krautrock as Mark Stewart laments the spectacle of modern day consumerism amidst a Kafkaesque haze of eery synths and jarring guitars.

The Pop Group play Glasgow’s CCA on 10th May 2015, while an announcement on Sleaford Mods new album is expected in the near future.
