The Libertines - Roger Sargent Shaking Cans B&W

T IN THE PARK festival have confirmed the first act to the play the 2015 event as The Libertines.

The festival have announced the iconic band as the first act to headline the event at the brand new site of Strathallan. Taking place over 10th-12th July 2015, the event will celebrate its new home in style with The Libertines taking to the Main Stage over the weekend.

The announcement took place live on Radio 1 by Zane Lowe. Pete Doherty said: “I’m excited. Like a surging sensation in my gut. I can’t to play to be honest. I can’t wait to play T in the Park. Think it’s part of the deal that we play new Libertines songs.”

The festival organisers are yet to announce any other acts to play the festival, keeping fans excited with anticipation.

Last year’s event was the last ever at the much-loved home of Balado seeing performances from the likes of Twin Atlantic, Arctic Monkeys, Biffy Clyro and The Temperance Movement.

Entries for this year’s T Break stage run by Tennent’s Lager historically open around Spring, meaning unsigned bands can apply to play the famous stage at T in the Park. Success stories of past finalisist include FatCat signed Honeyblood and Hector Bizerk who have independently released three records and sold out shows around the country.
