The band: Apache Darling are a two piece from Glasgow consisting of vocalist Stefanie Lawrence and keyboardist Andrew Black. They took their name from The Shadows’ hit song ‘Apache’, which is just one influence that makes up their synth pop sound.
The sound: Their sound is instantly accessible, with pop and synth grooves leading the way. Their single ‘More Than Me’ (listen below) backs Lawrence’s sweet vocals with some fuzzy electronics and then builds to a fantastically simple and catchy pop chorus.
The lowdown: ‘More Than Me’ will be out on the 24th August but will be available for pre-order on the 11th. They will be playing two shows at Broadcast in Glasgow during August, as well as participating in this year’s Tenement Trail in October, alongside the likes of Hector Bizerk and Model Aeroplanes.
