blur jools holland 14th aprilTHE BAND: For Blur fans, the wait is almost over with just under a fortnight to go until the release of eighth studio album, The Magic Whip. Having already drip-fed tracks ‘Lonesome Street’, ‘There Are Too Many of Us’, and ‘Go Out’ , the band have marked their planned (sadly Stateside) RSD 2015 festivities by unveiling yet another morsel in the form of ‘My Terracotta Heart’.

THE SOUND: More doleful than any of the cuts released thus far, the introspective explores Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon’s strained relations over the years. “At the moment I’m lost, a feeling that I don’t know if I’m losing you again,” trills a disconsolate Albarn as Coxon delivers one of his saddest licks in years.

THE LOWDOWN: Blur headline London’s Hyde Park on 20th June 2015 with support coming from the likes of Metronomy, The Horrors, Drenge and Roots Manuva. The Magic Whip is released on April 27th 2015 via Parlophone.
