BRIAN JONESTOWN MASSACRE are set to release a new short LP appropriately titled Mini Album Thingy Wingy. It contains seven tracks and will come out on the 13th November.
It caps a busy year for the bands frontman, icon and main protagonist Anton Newcombe, who in 2015 has already released Musique de film imaginé, and a collaborative album with Canadian singer-songwriter Tess Parks titled I Declare Nothing.
In advance of the new short album a video for the lead track ‘Pish’ has been released. The song is another co-write with Tess Parks, and in many ways is a return to BJM’s earlier sound, combining droning psychedelia with an Eastern or Asian influence. The slow, warbling guitar riff sets the tone, and from there the song slowly evolves into a shadowy story that wraps itself around mystery and darkly fueled ecstasy.
