catholic-action-8NOTORIOUSLY coy with their material, it says a lot about Catholic Action’s steadfast belief in their tactics that they’ve felt confident enough to leave a song that’s associated with uninhibited singalongs at their shows off of their recorded repertoire for so long.

Preparing to release a brand new AA side single via Luv Luv Luv, it was safe to say that the feverish version of ‘Rita Ora’ was worth the wait.

A few weeks removed from gaining new converts across the nation and providing one of their most memorable Glasgow shows to date at King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut, the band have shared a new video for this highly infectious single.

A track that’ll no doubt bellowed back at them in even bigger volumes now, ‘Rita Ora’ sees the band deliver a farfetched and  tongue-in-cheek ode to the pop starlet over a series of extravagant riffs that provide one ingenious focal point after another.

Ramping up the intensity of the 70’s strut of previous single ‘LUV’ to a level which would leave the staunchest of punk purists unashamedly bobbing their heads, it’s a track which serves as a testament to their unconfined originality in every way.

Its accompanying video is a fun-loving affair which acts as an ode to the longstanding tradition of fan art both crude and inventive. Intersected with the band striking their best rock ‘n’ roll poses as they tear through the track, the images were collated after a call to their fans on social media and it’s safe to say it’s provided some fantastic results.
