Catholic-Action-700x700AN act who’ve captured the imagination of Scotland’s musos and press, Catholic Action are one of the most consistently ingenious bands to emerge from the nation in recent years. Playing well recieved shows at events such as Live At Glasgow and Xponorth as well as in support of The Growlers at the CCA; if you haven’t checked them out yet then you’re doing yourself nothing short of a disservice.

Looking ahead to their debut performance at T In The Park as well as a headline show in Glasgow this weekend, they’ve released the audio for their spellbinding new single ‘The Real World.’

Recorded at frontman Chris McCrory’s own Shady Lane studio, they’ve yet again documented their outstanding ability to conjoin the ideals of classic songwriting with elements of slacker pop and more unexpected influences; all of which makes for a fascinating listen.

Maintaining the hints of glam rock that have became prevalent throughout their music, it lands somewhere between the quirkiness of David Bowie’s Hunky Dory era and the more scathing and unrestrained style of Mott The Hoople in their pomp. Steadily building to an all consuming crescendo that is sure to be every bit as riveting when performed live, Catholic Action continue to reaffirm why we’re such fervent supports of them and their music.

The track will be released on the 24th June 2015 via Fuzzkill and will arrive alongside the equally awe-inspiring instrumental ‘Andrew.’

With their debut album slated for around September 2015, the band are taking a brief break from the studio to undertake a jaunt around Scotland in the coming weeks. in addition to those dates, they’ll also be performing on the T Break stage at this year’s T in the Park and are set to perform at Electric Fields in August.
