FOLLOWING the news that they will be releasing their thirteenth album Different Days later this year, The Charlatans have unveiled a brand new song called ‘Plastic Machinery’.
Having enjoyed something of a renaissance in recent years, the new offering sees the much loved outfit continue in their rich vein of form; Tim Burgess’ soulful vocals and defiant lyricism are delivered over a backdrop of crunching guitars and stirring melodies. This time though, his songwriting is benefited by the addition of Brian Jonestown Massacre legend Anton Newcombe and the unmistakable spindling guitar work of Johnny Marr.
The collaborative effort gives us an exciting insight into the upcoming album which features a plethora of guests including Factory Floor, Paul Weller, Kurt Wagner and author Ian Rankin. It is due for release on 26th May.
