The band: Four piece Childhood released their debut album Lacuna earlier this year reaching the number one spot in the Official Record Store Chart. They have supported Temples and Interpol recently and are currently on tour with Johnny Marr. The band are releasing this new track ‘Blue Velvet’ via House Anxiety/ Marathon Artists.

The sound: A song fit for a night watching the sun come down, Childhood have mastered dreamy pop with jangling guitar riffs and buttery vocals. A re-adaption of the original demo produced in 2011, this track has been produced by Dan Carey who has worked with the likes of TOY and Bat For Lashes.

The video: Directed by Candice-Joelle and Georgio Barber, the video features the band playing in a smoke-filled club and focuses on the reactions of spectators who then take over from the band, becoming Childhood.

The lowdown: Due for release on 10th November, ‘Blue Velvet’ is taken from their debut release. The band recently finished their first headline UK tour. They will play Glasgow’s O2 Academy on 27th October 2014.
