The band: Courteeners first hit the scene back in 2007, before releasing their debut album St. Jude in 2008. They have just announced a new album, Concrete Love, which will be their fourth studio album and will be released on the 18th August.
The sound: ‘Summer’ (listen below) is the first single to be taken from their up-coming album. It sounds like its title suggests; light, rhythmic, poppy and summery. Centred around a clean bass line, it is simple in its entirety, mixed with jaunty guitars and a casual and gentle guitar solo.
The lowdown: They will be headlining the Radio 1/NME stage at this years Reading and Leeds Festival and will also be supporting The Killers in Glasgow on the 19th August at Bellahouston Park.
