HAVING established their status as cult heroes following the release of their debut album Hills End earlier this year, Britpop revivalists DMA’S have shared a new video for the latest single ‘Step Up The Morphine’.
Known to wear their nineties influences on their sleeve, this swooning ballad is a more sentimental offering than the ambitious Oasis-like rock anthems the three-piece have become known for. Sitting more in line with The La’s, the track’s swaying rhythms and echoing guitars are befitting of frontman Tom O’Dell’s raw emotion and introspective delivery; the accompanying visuals, directed by Errol Rainey, complementing the moving nature of the track.
DMA’S will be returning to the UK later this year, with performances at Edinburgh’s La Belle Angele on October 21st followed by Glasgow’s SWG3 on October 22nd.
