WITH riffs that scythe and lyrics that hit you square in the face, Dream Wife are an unstoppable force these days. Bold, daring and utterly fearless, the three-piece have had fans all over the country captivated by their incendiary live shows and empowering punk tunes.

Looking to build on a memorable year so far, the band have announced details of a brand new EP along with its title track ‘Fire’. Following the cut-throat sounds of ‘FUU’ and the rousing social commentary delivered via ‘Somebody’, the new single revisits the youthful exuberance and giddy abandon of their earlier material on EP01. Featuring the kind of explosive chorus that they have shown an enviable knack for, lead vocalist Rakel Mjoll playfully navigates around more blazing riffs from Alice Go, now symbolic of the Dream Wife sound, as the band add yet another banger to their increasingly impressive repertoire.

The song has now been accompanied by a new video which sees the trio hit the road, taking in the lush Icelandic landscapes before divulging in some serious witchcraft at the end – Thelma & Louise meets The Craft.

Described as a song of “explosive emotion; volcanic, eruptive and reflective in turn”, ‘Fire’ displays the band’s insatiable chemistry and versatility once again in rousing fashion. The Fire EP arrives via Lucky Number on 29th September and will feature ‘Fire’, previous single ‘Somebody’ and a number of remixes.

Dream Wife return to Glasgow to play King Tut’s on 13th October.
