IF you haven’t heard of Dream Wife by now, it’s safe to say that you’re late to the party. The London-based three-piece have earned a fierce reputation for their consistently impressive recorded material and ferocious live shows, selling out venues all over the UK and playing to receptive festival crowds all over the world. The band have now topped off a hugely successful year with the announcement of their long-awaited eponymous debut album, slated to arrive on 26th January via Lucky Number.

The exciting news, that has predictably gone down a storm with their expanding fanbase, has been accompanied by the release of a brand new track called ‘Let’s Make Out’. A band who haven’t put a foot wrong since their debut EP, the album’s opening track is another stormer which encapsulates their riotous and joyous live energy to perfection. Opening with some cool three-part harmonies, it doesn’t take long for Rakel Mjoll to inject some fire into proceedings – her intense shrieks are delivered over thudding basslines and a tirade of cutting guitars, channelling all the fizzing punky energy of their previous material.

The track has now been accompanied by one of the band’s signature fun and irreverent videos. Directed by Aidan Zamiri, the vintage-style clip depicts an 80s-style prom as couples dance and kiss the night away. A huge, celebratory ode to sexuality the band said: “Proms are synonymous with coming of age, a necessary social before graduation. We threw an IRL prom at our recent London show to announce our album and the night ended with much of the cast from the video making out and dancing with us on stage. Prom in many ways represents us coming of age as a band and we’re hoping to usher in this new era; dancing, making out, making things with our friends and flipping the script every step of the way.”

‘Let’s Make Out’ will feature alongside the band’s early singles ‘Hey Heartbreaker’, ‘FUU’, ‘Somebody’, ‘Fire’ and ‘Kids’ on the eagerly anticipated debut album. Check it out below.
