AHEAD of their headline UK tour which starts in Edinburgh tonight, Dutch Uncles have brought out a new video for their recently released track ‘Oh Yeah’.

A meticulously crafted piece of art-pop, the track itself dazzles with flashing synths, erratic basslines and propulsive rhythms; a whimsical vocal performance coming from Duncan Wallis over backing vocals provided by Everything Everything and Stealing Sheep. Idiosyncratic yet completely infectious, it offers a cheery dose of escapism while taking you back to the shimmering sounds of eighties new wave.

Meanwhile, the video was shot at Bury Roller Rink and finds DU vocalist Duncan Wallis donning skates alongside Stealing Sheep and the rest of the band, focusing on Wallis’ signature dancing style that has become a staple part of their live shows.

The frontman said: “Yeah, I used to be a skater boy. But like most other fruit-booters I didn’t have the patience to learn boarding or BMXing, so skating became my thing. I gave up soon after because I refused to wear a helmet but didn’t want to destroy my quite frankly beautiful face or brains), but when Nick suggested a bit of 4-on-4, I couldn’t wait to tear shit up.”

“Practising was a little odd. At 4pm on a Wednesday in a roller rink, you find yourself the only person over 10 years old working on some sweet glides, so I didn’t have much time as to not arouse suspicion.”

‘Oh Yeah’ features on Big Balloon which is out now on Memphis Industries. Check out the video below:
