The band: The Family Rain are a band of brothers formed in Bath in 2011. Since then the trio have patched together an impressive looking CV. They have supported artists such as the Courteeners and Jake Bugg, hosted two of their own headline UK tours and played festivals all over Europe including playing with The Rolling Stones at Hyde Park. They released their debut album Under the Volcano at the beginning of February to rave reviews.
The sound: The trio have just released a video for their song ‘Don’t Waste Your Time’. The slow paced groove set at the start gives way to a foot-stomping beat backed by some heavily distorted guitars. The darkly comedic video shows British actor Bernard Holley singing karaoke, backed by The Family Rain themselves. It ends on a deep note with the mournful looking Holley all alone in a dark room.
The lowdown: The Family Rain will be festival hopping this summer in support of their debut album, including the Chorlton Arts Festival in May and The Hop Farm Music Festival in July.
