The band: London’s Fat White Family are signed to Trashmouth Records and after a summer of appearances at festivals including Glastonbury, Latitude, Green Man and Reading & Leeds, they will round off their ‘Tour of Tenderness’ with a run of UK headline dates in September. The band will play Glasgow’s Art School on 16th September 2014. They’ll then head off to start work on their second album, due in 2015.

The sound: ‘I AM MARK E SMITH’ is slow building and haunting with trippy bass repetition that send shivers. The Brixton boys portray grit in their post-punk riffs, channeling The Birthday Party and The Amazing Snakeheads with this permanent and unnerving sound.

The lowdown: The single is available now via Without Consent, their new label on which they will release their second album late next year. Those looking to catch the Fat White’s live can do so throughout January, February and March, with dates as follows;

26th January Village Underground, London
20th February O2 Academy Leeds, Leeds
22nd February O2 ABC, Glasgow
