REGULARLY cited as one of the most simultaneously popular and forward-thinking groups within the modern crop of UK guitar bands, Foals have mystified their audience with three incredibly eclectic records to date.
Regrouping after a lengthy lay off, the band have returned with another evolutionary step in their career; emerging from the woodwork with the thunderous ‘What Went Down.’
Based upon one of their most raucous and unrelenting guitar parts thus far, ‘What Went Down’ is a visceral, psychedelia tinged track that is every bit as gripping as the standout songs on Total Life Forever or Holy Fire.
Spurred on by Yannis Philippakis as he frantically expounds his thoughts and musings, the track could be seen as a modernised take on the otherworldly and shamanic delivery of The Doors at their most intense.
The band’s upcoming record of the same name is set to arrive on the 28th August 2015 via Warner Bros.
