BRIGHTON trio Our Girl, have unveiled a woozy cover of Ty Segall’s ‘Sad Fuzz’.

Featuring an alluring vocal performance from Soph Nathan, the track stays very close to its original as the grungy trio embrace the fuzz with an onslaught of heavy guitars and rip-roaring energy. Having originally appeared on Ty Segall’s popular 2010 album Melted, Our Girl’s new version was recorded by Steve Ansell of Blood Red Shoes and mixed by Amber Bain of The Japanese House.

Lead vocalist Soph Nathan, also known as resident guitar shredder and member of fast rising band The Big Moon, said of the track: “There’s a lovely sun soaked nostalgia to the lyrics, which reminds me of being completely relaxed, lazing woozy on the grass or in bed all day. It somehow manages to have real energy and feel very hazy at the same time – it was so nice to sing, and it felt really freeing to play it together. We didn’t change much, the melody and feel is so good we just had fun with it.”

‘Sad Fuzz’ will appear in the March edition of Flying Vinyl alongside previous EP tracks, ‘Being Around’ and ‘No Big Deal’.
