AN artist who has been bubbling away under the surface of Scotland’s ever-vibrant music scene since late 2016, electronic experimentalist Glassmasterer is set to bring his beautifully crafted and wildly eclectic compositions to Tenement Trail later this month.

Scheduled to play in the dark, hollow surroundings of The Priory as part of an exciting bill specially curated by Public Records, the artist otherwise known as Lewis Bigham will unleash his new AA side single ‘Last Chance to Make Plans/GhGhGhGhost!’ across all digital platforms on 28th September, the day before his appearance at Trail.

Currently exclusively available on Soundcloud, listeners have the chance to acquaint themselves with Glassmasterer’s exciting material before the big day. Both entirely unique compositions, the first track ‘Last Chance to Make Plans’ features Edinburgh synth-pop duo Chuchoter and was premiered earlier this year on Vic Galloway’s Radio Scotland show. Opening in ambient fashion, it takes the listener on an aural odyssey; one which shifts from beguiling synths and organ sounds into an upbeat, funk-laden disco tune with a female vocal. It’s experimental, wildly creative and unpredictable; quite simply, like nothing we’ve heard already this year.

Second track ‘GhGhGhGhost!’ sees him collaborate once again but with local MC Zenga the Titan. An entirely different beast from its predecessor, Zenga’s formidable freestyle is delivered over some chilled out electronics and hip-hop beats before the track develops into a curious amalgamation of vocal refrains and vibrant, wonky synths.

A brilliantly eclectic and colourful exercise in experimentation, Glassmasterer brings together an array of influences to create compositions that are wholly unique. Check out his AA single before he appears at Tenement Trail on 29 September.
