TEASING their fans around the world for months on end, Gorillaz have finally came through when we need them most.

As the world prepares to enter a bleak and borderline surreal new era helmed by a despotic and unstable billionare, the Damon Albarn-fronted group have reemerged with the unapologetic ‘Hallelujah Money.’

Assisted by Mercury Prize award winning singer/songwriter Benjamin Clementine, the trip-hop infused new offering is a stark look at the current state of affairs and its accompanying visuals sees their guest star crooning from the monolithic Trump Tower with a solemn expression upon his face.

An important sentiment for a period in which the power of greed and the scaremongering incentive of financial insecurity has made the American public turn on their fellow man, the track is accompanied by a tweet from their official account which proclaims that “u need someone to look up to. Me. Here’s a lightning bolt of truth in a black night. Now piss on! New stuff won’t write itself.”

Whether this new offering will be a sign of things to come is as yet unknown and no official statement regarding an imminent new album has been issued.
