JACK WHITE has emerged from the shadows to unveil a heavy new instrumental track by the name of ‘Battle Cry’.
It was revealed last month that the ex-White Stripes man has been working on new material in his home base of Nashville with the help of an old reel-to-reel tape recorder. While it is unclear whether the track is a one off single or a preview of his upcoming album, ‘Battle Cry’ marks his first solo release since 2014.
Aside from a few chants of ‘hey!’, the track is a two and a half minute instrumental full of marching percussion and White’s signature gnarly guitar riffs. Out now via his own Third Man label, you can listen to it below.
