IN one of the more unexpected musical collaborations of 2017, the continuously impressive American Epic  Sessions have struck gold in the form of Elton John and Jack White’s ‘Two Fingers Of Whiskey’

Penned by none other than the former’s longtime songwriting confidant Bernie Taupin, the track was put together on an improvisational basis by the two renowned artists and the fluidity with which their ideas intersect is awe-inspiring.

A bluesy number that recalls the debauched days of the genre’s golden era, the track is led by Elton’s rugged drawl whilst White provides backing vocals and tangents of gripping guitar.

Also set to feature Nas, Merle Haggard, Beck, Alabama Shakes and more, The American Epic Sessions will premiere on PBS next Tuesday before its soundtrack emerges on the 9th June
