The band: Jamie T was quiet for a long time before he posted a hand-written letter announcing three new live gigs, and since has revealed details of a fourth show held in London. He has now unveiled a new track, ‘Don’t You Find’, which he premiered on Zane Lowe on Radio 1.
The sound: ‘Don’t You Find’ is a slower song, far from his usual quick-tongued, pacey beats. It holds simplicity at heart being based around a guitar hook, but then covers this over with some big sounding electronics and some gentle percussion. It’s reserved and carries a sombre tone, with his usual flair for aggression only breaking out slightly towards the end. All the same it is an extremely nice track and a promising return.
The lowdown: Aside from the initial three live dates he announced he is also playing a headline show at The Dome, London on the 7th August. He has hinted that a new album could be coming out later this year too.
