THE latest artist to pair up with Dan Carey’s Speedy Wunderground label, JW Ridley has introduced himself to the world in stirring fashion with the release of his ambitious debut track ‘Everything (Deathless)- Part 1.’

Produced by Bat For Lashes, Django Django and Toy collaborator Carey, the track is an eight-minute epic that is both completely immersive and energising all at once. Driven by relentless motorik rhythms, Ridley is able to conjure incredible soundscapes that take on elements of krautrock and moody guitar pop; his washed out ethereal vocals drawing you in over a wonderfully layered arrangement of synths and guitars.

Culminating in a glorious solo, it is testament to the quality of the track that it never feels too long, despite its extended run time. It’s an accomplished debut offering from the London-based art school graduate who certainly looks like one to watch out for in the coming year.

Split into two parts for its limited vinyl release, the track will come out on 10th February. Check out the first part below:
