CELEBRATING 20 years of taking it ‘eez-eh,’ indie rock veterans Kasabian have released ‘Bless This Acid House’; the latest single from For Crying Out Loud released in May on Columbia.

Over their two decades in the spotlight, the Manchester quartet have built a reputation for stonking festival anthems and electric riffs, but their latest effort embraces the North West’s carefree bohemian vibes. Echoing of The La’s and psychedelic Oasis ‘Bless This Acid House’ is a melancholic sing-a-long and features frontman Tom Meighan’s best vocal performance since 2009’s ‘Fire’.

Choruses of ‘oh-ohs’ compliment his distinctive snarl belting out four-fold “we’ve got time on our hands” as Serge Pizzorno slides in with screeching and soaring riffs. Much like all of Kasabian’s best work, the rhythm and bass section is simple and well-executed allowing Meighan and Pizzorno stand-out from the noise. Kasabian have successfully stripped back their sound to its very roots to re-discover top form. Good news for anyone heading down to see the four-piece rock TRNSMT at Glasgow Green on July 8.
